Adventure Indoors: Build a blanket fort or reading nook and spend 15 minutes together inside. Share old photos, talk about your favorite memories, and tell a story you loved when you were a child.
Adventure at the Library: Visit your local library and check out a book about winter, animals, or outer space. Ask a librarian for a read-aloud recommendation.
Adventure in Telling Stories: Share moments of your day as stories, or create a story together, one sentence at a time.
Adventure in Creativity: Listen to a story podcast (like BedtimeFM or Storyline Online) and then take turns drawing what you imagined.
Adventure Outside: Go for a walk together and talk about what you see, like the colors of the houses, the animals around you, and the shapes of the trees. Notice the words and signs you see along the way!
Adventure in Your Language: Sing or read together in the language your family speaks most at home. It strengthens skills in every language.
Adventure in Conversation: During dinner or a car ride, ask your child about their favorite part of their day. Ask “Why?” and “What happened next?” to spark storytelling.
Adventure Together: Read aloud with a family member or friend. Take turns reading in funny voices for each character!
Bonus Adventure: Watch a read-aloud video from Storyline Online or a story playlist on YouTube. After you watch, try acting it out together!
Adventure in Your Imagination: Ask your child to create their own news or talk show! They can interview people in your family, your friends, or even your pets. Help them create fun questions, tell stories, and record them on a phone or tablet.
Adventure in Performance: Gather friends or cousins and put on a play based on a favorite book. Assign roles, create costumes from things around the house, and perform for family!
Adventure in Play: Play "I Spy" with letter sounds or rhymes wherever you are. ("I spy something that rhymes with 'car'!")
